The Great Western Railway was a Northern Colorado enterprise. I snapped the top photo on the left of Locomotive 51 in June of 1958, on my first trip to Loveland in my Mom's hot-wired 1956 Nash Rambler. I was 16 and had had a driver's licence in pocket for only two months. I returned in the fall of 1959 in the same car to photograph locomotive 51 working away during the sugarbeet harvest, making runs from Loveland to Windsor and Eaton.
