Some of the finest and largest steam locomotives in the world operated out of Union Pacific's Wyoming Division, headquartered in Cheyenne. My first look at this division was in July, 1957, on our family trip to California aboard the Union Pacific Overland train. The first two photos on the left were taken from that train. The top three photos on the right were taken in July 1959, the last three I took in the mid-1980s of a UP excursion over "Sherman Hill."
