Paris is alive with music. You will see students on the subways with classical sheet music in hand on their way to classes and lessons. You will hear the sounds of students practicing wafting from open windows along des rues. The shops on a short stretch of la Rue de Rome in the 9th arrondisement is the home to most every luthier and many of the music dealers in Paris. You will find stores that sell and service string, piano and brass instruments as well as the fabulous sheet music and score stores librairie musicale Monnier and Flûte de Pan. Located near Gare Saint Lazare and accessible from the Europa Metro stop, the street is dotted with musicians lugging their instruments.
