It was a decades-long dream to visit this great gothic cathedral in Paris to hear ancient organum and Gregorian chant sung during special concerts. Finally in 2007, and again in 2009, I was able to attend these concerts, which are performed fairly frequently. They are popular concerts in the summer, attended by bewiltered, and sometimes noisy, tourists who probably would have never been exposed to this music, had not a concert been included in their tour itinerary. I recommend to every music lover who visits this great city to visit the cathedral for both the singing and the magnificent organ concerts given by France's greatest organists.
