Listen to Charles Tournemire (who became the organist at Ste-Clotilde 8 years after Franck's death) improvise on the organ in Ste-Clotilde. This was recorded in 1931, the year that Tournemire wrote his book on César Franck.
César Franck (1822-1890), France's great composer, was the organist at this beautiful church between 1857 and his death in 1890. The organ at Basilique Ste-Clotilde (English) was built by the great organ builder Aristide Cavaillé Coll.
