The Concertgebouw in Amsterdam is absolutely my favorite place to listen to music. It has the most amazing acoustics that I have experienced anywhere, the classical programs that I have attended here include music that I have never heard in other places (Tournemire's Poeme Opus 38, Scriabin's Divine Poem, for starters), the Concertgebouw orchestra is amazing, and so are the orchestras from other European cities that perform here during the summer. I have learned just enough Dutch to enable my purchasing tickets on the internet months in advance, enabling me to get second- and third-row seating, directly in front of the conductor. This is the way to listen to the great works of European Classical Music!
