In April, 1949, I received a birthday present from Cici Maxim who lived in New Bedford Massachusetts. She was the daughter of a friend of my Aunt Dorothy, who lived there at that time. This was the beginning of my photographic journey.
On the left, photos 2 and 3 are of me and my sister at Bishops Lodge in Santa Fe, New Mexico, where we spent a week. I had discovered a long irrigation ditch that I liked to hike on. Next, on the wall of the service yard at our home at 45 Dahlia Street in Denver, are posed my neighbor friend Eddie Zimmerman, below him my sister Leslie, and another little girl - possible Kathy Robinson, and we are toasting our bottles of Coca-Cola. Photo 5 on the left I took at the Denver Country Club, where we were very active members. This is the kiddie pool. On the bottom on the left is a photo I shot while filling up for gas for a trip to the mountains.
On the right are photos of amusement rides in Estes Park, Colorado, one of our favorite vacations places, followed by three photos taken in Aspen, where we came in the summer of 1950 for a vacation and to see Igor Stravinsky conduct at the Aspen Summer Festival. This was the time where I went back stage to talk with him. I was 8.
The ski lift was open during the summer for great rides to the top of Apex Mountain!
