These are photos from my family's albums. The first photo, top left, was taken in 1943 of me, Dad, and "Bapo," my granddad, who ran the Denver Tramway Corporation. Mom placed this photo, most likely taken by my grandmother, in my baby book and called it "War Worries." It's one of my favorite family photos. Photo 2 (going down the left side) is of Mom and me, then a photo with my cousin Sally Ann followed by me and my sister leslie, three years younger than me. Two more photos of me, then me in my back yard with the "Pate" kids. On the right, following a birthday photo of me is one taken with the "Garnsey" kids, with my sister Leslie seated on the right. We had been invited by the Garnsey family to their beautiful cabin in Estes Park, Colorado.
Photo 4 on the right: That's my Dad's old trumpet from Military School (UGH!) that his father sent him to and Dad always threatened to send me to if I didn't straighten up (Kemper Military Academy). Behind me is the greenhouse belonging to Walter Schlegel and if you compare this photo with the photo on this page (photo 4 on the right) you will see here the fence Dad had built with the trees he
had planted to cover up the view.
